Revive Her Legacy
Dear Friends of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton,
Through much prayer and thoughtful consideration, the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is about to embark on a new venture – Seton Heritage Ministries - that will lead to both exciting and challenging times. While the Shrine, with its holy and historic roots, is already a spiritual destination for 45,000 pilgrims each year, we have decided to expand the boundaries of its spiritual reach to serve even more visitors and pilgrims.
We envision the Shrine as a place of holy retreat and inspiration, where pilgrims by the thousands will have their hearts lifted in this "valley of blessings," their faith nourished, and their spirits rejuvenated. Taking our cue from St. Elizabeth Ann’s desire to serve the Church and her people, we seek to offer a rich sacramental life at the Basilica; retreats and workshops for the faithful; educational exhibits and programs; as well as an enriching atmosphere for the Shrine’s many pilgrims.
As we embark on this ministry, we are keenly aware that time is of the essence. Our world is starving for God! The key to success is to make the most of what is offered to us, minimize risks, and not be afraid to undertake new initiatives so that St. Elizabeth Ann may become a beacon of hope in today’s society.
We aspire to breathe life into the heritage given by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton so that through her example and intercession pilgrims may be drawn closer to Christ and His Church. There is much to be done to move forward and make Seton Heritage Ministries and the Shrine a vibrant, self-sufficient international ministry.
We ask you for your prayers, and that you would share the inspiration you have found in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton so that others can be refreshed on their journey and courageously bring Christ’s hope to a world in need. We ask Mother Seton to intercede for God’s blessings upon us to bring her mission alive!
With gratitude and blessings,
Rob Judge
