Seton Heritage Discovery
Seton Heritage Discovery is a young adult group comprised of Catholics in their twenties and thirties. Our programs provide a comprehensive experience for the life of a Catholic through service, education, community, and social activities.
Every day Catholics must balance the demands of a largely secular culture with the teachings of the Church. Not only can it be difficult to even distinguish what our faith teaches, it can be even trickier to determine how to apply these teachings in the "real world." Many times, making faith an active part of everyday life is simply a matter of creating a positive environment and community setting that fosters and supports solid, moral choices.
In Seton Heritage Discovery, we hope to resurrect a sense of faith-based community. By the participation we’ve seen, it appears that there are many young adults who are hungry for the same thing. Our goal here is to connect and create a sense of support and conversation that will allow us to discover what it truly means to be Catholic in our everyday life. Our Youth Discovery Project supports and reinforces this initiative.
We envision Seton Heritage Discovery being driven by young adults of the Basilica of National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. We hope to host at least one official event each month, whether it is a social activity, an educational opportunity, or a chance to serve our community.
